gritty orange clay with a dusky greyish surface

decorated in black and a boldly cut sign made after firing of vase ; and a large strap handle presumably from a pithos

with a bold spiral drawn with the finger while the clay was wet. General decoration includes barbotine and incised (lines) decoration and dark-on-light painting (floral

bivalve shell).
